Meet our Providers
Joan G. Calkins, MD
Educated at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. Calkins is a member of the American Board of Pediatrics, sub-Board of Pediatric Rheumatology and the American College of Rheumatology. She also is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and is often giving lectures and seminars on her experience and knowledge.
Dr. Calkins likes to spend what little free time she has on her farm tending to her animals. She is the loving mothers of 5 grown children.
Chelsea George, FNP, RN
Educated at St. John Fisher College, Chelsea has her B.S.N. in Nursing and has been a R.N. in our office for over 5 years. She is currently attending D’Youville College with an anticipatory graduation date of December of 2019 with her Masters as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She recently graduated with her masters in Nursing Practice from D’Youville College's Nurse Practitioners Program in December 2019.
Lindsey enjoys running and spending time with her husband and two children.
Melinda S. Haas, DNP, RN, FNP-c
Educated at Fredonia State, St. John Fisher and the University of Buffalo, Melinda has a Doctorate in Nursing Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner to go with a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S.N. in Nursing. In addition to seeing patients at Village Pediatrics for the past 2 years, Melinda is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Buffalo School of Nursing.
Melinda enjoys snowboarding and spending her free time with her husband and two young children.
Sheena M. Mikac, RPA-C
Sheena Mikac is a board certified physician assistant who trained with Dr. Calkins in 2007 in pediatrics. She completed her bachelor and master of science degree as a physician assistant from D’Youville College in 2008.
Her goal is to help young patients, along with their families, learn to be well and live full and active lives.
Sheena is married and has two daughters and a son. Outside the office, she enjoys reading, hiking and camping. Her family enjoys spending time caring for their dog and chickens. Every day is an adventure.
Meet our Nurses
Jaclyn Samulski, RN
Educated at Trocaire College and Daemen College, Jackie earned her B.S.N. in Nursing. She also holds an A.A.S. in Medical Assisting. Over the last 5 years Jackie has worked as an RN for Dr. Calkins, but has been with the practice for over 10 years.
Jennifer Cantone, RN
Educated at Daemen College, Jenn has her B.S.N. in Nursing and has been a R.N. in our office for 3 years now. She is currently attending D’Youville College with an anticipatory graduation date of August 2020 with her Masters as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Jenn enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking with her pup Carson, and traveling with her fiancé.
