Meet our Providers

Joan Calkins

Joan G. Calkins, MD

Educated at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. Calkins is a member of the American Board of Pediatrics, sub-Board of Pediatric Rheumatology and the American College of Rheumatology. She also is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and is often giving lectures and seminars on her experience and knowledge.

Dr. Calkins likes to spend what little free time she has on her farm tending to her animals. She is the loving mothers of 5 grown children.

Lindsey Rogers

Lindsey Rogers, RPA-C

Educated at Daemen College, Lindsey has a B.S. in Health Science and an M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies and has worked with Dr. calkins for over 11 years. Her experience has expanded so that Lindsey sees both Pediatric and Rheumatology patients.

Lindsey enjoys running and spending time with her husband and two children.

Melinda Haas

Melinda S. Haas, DNP, RN, FNP-c

Educated at Fredonia State, St. John Fisher and the University of Buffalo, Melinda has a Doctorate in Nursing Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner to go with a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S.N. in Nursing. In addition to seeing patients at Village Pediatrics for the past 2 years, Melinda is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Buffalo School of Nursing.

Melinda enjoys snowboarding and spending her free time with her husband and two young children.

Sheena Mikac

Sheena M. Mikac, RPA-C

Sheena Mikac is a board certified physician assistant who trained with Dr. Calkins in 2007 in pediatrics. She completed her bachelor and master of science degree as a physician assistant from D’Youville College in 2008.
Her goal is to help young patients, along with their families, learn to be well and live full and active lives.

Sheena is married and has two daughters and a son. Outside the office, she enjoys reading, hiking and camping. Her family enjoys spending time caring for their dog and chickens. Every day is an adventure.

Chelsea Oberkrieser

Chelsea George

Educated at St. John Fisher College, Chelsea has her B.S.N. in Nursing and has been a R.N. in our office for over 5 years. She is currently attending D’Youville College with an anticipatory graduation date of December of 2019 with her Masters as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Chelsea enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing soccer, hiking, and traveling with her husband.

Sam Morgan

Educated at Daemen College, Samantha earned her B.S.N. in Nursing. Samantha also has a B.A. in Spanish Ed from the University at Buffalo. After spending time at a local hospital, Sam has been an RN at our office now for over a year. Additionally, she is a Clinical Instructor at Trocaire College, teaching students at Oishei’s Children’s Hospital.

Sam enjoys traveling, playing and watching sports (Go Bills) and planning her 2020 wedding.
